I shut the pressured helmet as I run
In seconds I’ll be soaring in the air
I jump inside my F-4 Phantom
Start the engine check the guns
My Phantom’s flying as fast as I dare.
The blueness of the sky moisten my eyes
I can’t describe my feelings when it dies
I wish that you could also see it
Our path is long and hard
My Phantom’s going east and pretty far.
Here I’m turning sharply to the left
I want some people down there to be dead
Taking aim and launching missiles

This is just an outrageous lie
I heard it in my headset as they cried:
Kolya go and I will fire!
Vanya shoot and I will cover!
Ace Ivan from Russia stopped my flight.
Dear Texas many miles away
Mom and dad hope I’ll be back one day,
F-4 Phantom blew up quickly
And then disappeared completely
I doubt that we’ll ever meet again.
