On May 16, 1990, Brando's son Christian visited his half-sister Cheyenne and her partner Dag Drollet, only for the encounter to end in tragedy. Christian claims that Cheyenne told him Dag was abusing her, which led to a confrontation during which Christian accidentally shot Dag, resulting in his death. The situation continued to spiral out of control during Christian's trial, as Cheyenne attempted suicide twice due to her ongoing struggles with mental health.
