Trekking Bars (Butterfly Bars) Use and Setup

Mountain bikes can make great touring bikes but the straight handle bars don't provide for different hand positions so your hands can go numb on long rides. In this video we look at Trekking bars which are also known as Butterfly bars, what they can do for your ride and how to set them up. If you're thinking about getting into bicycle touring and you don't want to invest in a new bike, converting a mountain bike, at least for your first rides, might be an excellent option. Some of the Trekking bar setup tips you see here will be different from what you see on the Internet but I'll explain why.
