Duel Truce, Dual Truths

as we fight and feud through the battlefields
of our various griefs and woes,
our minds we seal where we neglect appeals
ones that require us to glow.
but throughout the clashes and ordeals
our daggers we must stow,
for only then can we seek to heal
where our hearts can sprout and grow.

People often become so caught up in defending themselves that they forget not every situation needs to be treated like a battle. Sometimes growth only begins when pride and stubbornness is set aside long enough for people to actually listen. When disagreements happen, do you tend to cool off quickly, or hold onto them for a while?
