Amateur Extra Lesson 2.1, General Operating: Updated for v11
Here's your video introduction to section 2.1 of the "ARRL Amateur Extra License Manual for Ham Radio." The lesson covers "general operating" and includes material on DXing and contesting. I've updated sections to match the new 11th edition of the manual. These videos are updated for the 11th edition of the "ARRL Extra Class License Manual for Ham Radio." You can find this book on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/Extra-Class-License-Manual-Spiral/dp/1625950551, and on the ARRL website at http://www.arrl.org/shop/ARRL-Extra-Class-License-Manual-11th-Edition/. The errata page and the question set re-ordered to match the book can be found at http://www.arrl.org/extra-class-license-manual. You can go directly to the exam review website at http://arrlexamreview.appspot.com/.
Thank you for watching my videos! My channel, "Ham Radio Answers," is here to help you become an active, on-the-air amateur radio operator! I am unique in that I provide the only set of YouTube training videos that accompany the ARRL license manuals, section for section. I try hard to answer every Ask Dave question individually if I can.

I also frequently use photos and videos from www.nasa.gov. Often photos come from www.wikipedia.org.
I'm often asked what equipment I use to create the videos. The devices include the Panasonic HDC-TM90 video camera, Tascam DR-05 audio recorder, Audio-Technica ATR-3350 lapel microphone, Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W560 digital camera, the Kodak Zi-8 video camera, my iPhone 5S, and Pentax K100D DSLR. Software used: CyberLink PowerDirector 13 on a Toshiba S55-A5294, also using Smoothdraw 4.0.5.0, FastStone Image Viewer 5.3, FastStone Capture 8.0, Audacity 2.1.1, LibreOffice 5.0.4.2, and Ink2Go 1.7.2.
