Tesla Semi will come but behind schedule
Elon Musk informed the public a month and a half ago that the Tesla Semi production was on hold until the company could produce enough battery cells. Way back in January, Musk stated in a report that the main reason why they can’t accelerate their new products, including the Tesla Semi, is because there aren’t enough cells made for it.
Though the truck is about two years behind schedule, the company assured the public that this may not be a reason to panic. They need to make sure that the Tesla Semi production will sell once it hits the pavement. And the Tesla Company can do this by identifying which market will want to add a Tesla Semi to their trucking lineup, as well as trying to beef up on charging and service infrastructure if the need arises.

Doubts arise about the Tesla Semi’s release
Several groups expressed their uncertainty about the release of the Tesla Semi, having doubts whether it will actually happen or not. One particular reason for speculation is that the Tesla Semi Twitter page has not been that active in the previous weeks. In fact, Musk hasn’t announced much information in the past weeks. However, he did project confidence last January about the production gearing up once the battery cells needed for the vehicle were made. Looking at the bright side, the Semi page can still be seen on Tesla’s website which shows that there have been no signs that the company has thought of scrapping the production.

The main question about the Tesla Semi battery
Since the main reason for the delay of the Tesla Semi is the battery cell production, the biggest question now is how the battery technology will truly evolve. Can the range be higher than the 500 miles on the top-of-the-line trim? There are lots of Class 8 Diesel trucks that can go over 2000 miles before it needs fuel. If the range of the truck capacity increases and when the battery technology gets even better, the Tesla Semi will undoubtedly become more appealing.

What’s in with Semi reservation?
In terms of reservation fee, the Tesla Semi will cost around $20 000. Reports suggested that this is a good investment given that Semi is considered to be released by the end of the year. Unfortunately, only little info was released and given out but it is still smart to wait for more updates regarding Tesla Semi.
