Inside of the Tower of London, there was a huge amount of torture and execution carried out during the Tudor period and the centuries after. It is a fortress where 3 Queens lost their heads, but it was also a place where many torture devices such as the Rack were used. But one of the most sadistic torture devices used at the Tower of London was an oubliette, known as Little Ease.

Little Ease was a 1.2m square oubliette style prison cell and dungeon in which prisoners such as Guy Fawkes were tortured and locked in. The prisoners could not stand up or sit and were forced to crouch for long amounts of time in the darkness. It was considered one of the worst tortures in history.
