After the suspension of older munciple commisioner now the charge has been handed over to additional commissoner N K Mucchad. The 143-year-old Morbi suspension footbridge collapsed on October 30, killing 135 people, despite the Oreva Group's claims that it had undergone "full and final" renovation. A day after being interrogated by the police for more than four hours, the municipal body chief of Gujarat's Morbi city where a suspension bridge snapped on Sunday, was suspended on Friday. On Thursday, Sandeepsinh Zala, the municipal corporation chief officer, was questioned by the police for four hours. The police sought his explanation over the agreement signed with Gujarat-based watchmaker Oreva to renovate the century-old cable bridge.
