Home Made Diffusion for the LAOWA KX-800 Twin Macro Flash
Video #2 of three in my quest to create a new flash option for wide angle macro photography.
The gear we get from manufacturers is just the start, the base for what we may need to hone our particular imaging skills. With Macro everything is about lighting, diffused lighting. With any flash module the light emitted can simply be way too harsh. We need to soften that down by diffusing it beyond the capabilities of the accessories supplied by the manufacturer. This is where the 'Frankenflash' comes to mind.
You may have seen past videos of my diffusion exploits for Macro Photography, and this is simply yet another in that quest to find the perfect lighting option for macro imaging.
As I am now also working with the LAOWA 15mm f4 1:1 Macro I need to create a flash diffusion module that will still allow great power as the 15mm with it's super wide angle of view demands the flash heads be placed further away from the lens than say if I was using my LAOWA 60mm f2.8 2:1 macro lens.
This is how I set about creating the latest, and definitely not the last, in a long line of macro diffusion ideas to work with this latest lens in my imaging arsenal.
