Google Data Analytics Professional Certification on Coursera - First Look

Google has finally launched the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate on Coursera. After almost a year or teasers, we finally know what’s included and how much it costs. We’ll cover all that plus whether this certificate could potentially replace a college degree in today’s video.

Here’s how Google describes the course:
Through practical, hands-on assignments and projects, learners will develop confidence using a series of tools and platforms including Spreadsheets, SQL, Slides, Jupyter Notebooks, Tableau, and R.

Google’s made multiple statements about their professional certificates being equivalent to a 4 year degree in their hiring process. Specifically, their SVP of Global Affairs tweeted that Google is treating these professional certificates as the equivalent of a 4 year degree when hiring for related roles. Does this render degrees obsolete across the board?
