Rustproofing Ford Transit - 5 Steps DIY

This is the method I'm using to protect my MK 5 Ford Transit against RUST! In my opinion this is definitely worthwhile doing on an older vehicle prone to rust. Providing that the chassis and sills are in a reasonable condition to start with, this preventative maintenance activity will save hours of welding in the future.

I believe this is the best method for long lasting rust protection. I focus on the chassis and sills for this video as the structure of the vehicle is most important. Waxoyl can also be applied to different areas for rust protection.

Materials used:
Hammerite direct to rust metal paint or rust inhibiting paint (red oxide, rustoleum etc) (cheaper for red oxide!)
Hammerite Waxoyl rustproofing for cars & undercoating gun or equivalent
White spirit or engine oil
Cortanin F rust converter or alternative
Wire brush for drill
Paintbrush
