Hamilton Pool Preserve Near Austin 2019| Things to do in Austin, TX | Hike with me vlog

Okay so I have been trying to go to Hamilton Pool Reserve for literally an entire year.... yes a WHOLE YEAR and I finally found an opening! In order to visit this Dripping Springs park, you need to reserve your spot which is not an easy task. They are usually booked year round, but it's something to consistently check just in case a spot opens up. I paid $10 to secure my spot plus a $15 entrance fee. The reservation isn't per person, it's per vehicle so basically making sure there's a park for you once you arrive. My friend and I traveled here Sunday, and it was definitely worth the 3 hr drive from Houston to Dripping Springs, Texas.

Recommendations:
- Wear comfortable shoes
- Wear sunscreen
- Bring water
- A towel, mat, etc... for when you sit, unless you don't mind sitting directly on rocks or the ground
- Swimwear. We could not get in due to an increased bacteria level, so bring hiking clothes, so you're not walking around in a bikini just in case.
- Charged electronics, because you'll definitely take pictures.
- Eat before getting out there. I snacked a little before and that wasn’t enough. The heat almost got to me, but I champed through.
