PREVIEW: Between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals, one team has the least to lose. As good as knocked out of the competition, SRH are at the bottom with just one win from nine games and the least they can do from hereon is play party poopers for other teams.

If they hoped that a change in captaincy from David Warner to Kane Williamson mid-season would change fortunes, it hasn't worked. Their bowling continues to rely heavily on Rashid Khan and the batters, too, are struggling for runs. In a low-scorer against Punjab Kings, SRH failed to chase 126. Warner's poor form, and that the middle order has barely made significant contributions, have hurt them.

It's a similar case for RR that had Sanju Samson playing a lone hand in their loss against DC. In their two-run win over PBKS, the top order stood tall but the middle floundered. In that sense, RR haven't had a wholesome performance as yet although they'll be thrilled with the way the pace trio of Mustafizur Rahman, Chetan Sakariya and Kartik Tyagi have performed. A win against SRH will launch them to the top-half, from their current seventh, it'll be a sweet redemption since they missed a chance to break into top four in the game against DC.

Head-to-head: Not much separates these sides with both having seven wins each in the 14 times they've played each other. In the last five encounters, however, Rajasthan have three wins. Even in Dubai, where the two teams have played each other twice, both have a win each.

When: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Rajasthan Royals, September 27, 2021, 7:30 PM IST

Where: Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai

What to expect: It should be a good pitch for batting on a hot day with temperatures soaring up to 37 degrees. Rajasthan have won just two of their eight matches played in Dubai.

Team News:

Sunrisers Hyderabad:

Injured/Unavailable: Khaleel didn't look a 100 percent in the game against PBKS but nothing was communicated. Vijay Shankar and T Natarajan continue to be in isolation after the latter tested COVID positive. Sherfane Rutherford, brought in to replace Jonny Bairstow, returned home following the death of his father.

Tactics/Match-ups: With their star opener David Warner struggling for runs, SRH may bring in Jason Roy at the top and strengthen their rather fragile middle order with Virat Singh or Priyam Garg. SRH will take a cue from Samson's average falling in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to half from what it is in Sharjah and will attack him early. RR's batters are also known to have a higher strike rate against the fast bowlers, so SRH's pacers will aim to take the pace off and introduce Rashid early. We may see a few overs from Abdul Samad and another part-time slower bowler if required. Sandeep Sharma has accounted for Samson twice, and it may not be surprising to see SRH keep the match-up in mind.

Rajasthan Royals:

Injured/Unavailable: Chris Morris and Evin Lewis were unavailable for selection against Delhi Capitals due to niggles. Both may be available for the clash against SRH.

Tactics/Match-ups: One thing that worked for RR when the two sides met previously in the India leg was RR's tactic of playing out Rashid Khan and attacking the other bowlers. SRH had bowled out Rashid by the 11th over and they consolidated after to get a total in excess of 200. They will look to adopt the same strategy in their return fixture. If Morris was rested for Shamsi in Abu Dhabi, he may return on wickets tending to assist pace.
