Hydrochloric acid (HCL) produced in our body to complete the digestion process by breaking down the food. Our stomach naturally produces this acid in the gastric glands of our stomach; acidity is caused when this acid gets produced in excess quantity due to triggers such as dehydration, alcohol, stress, or food habits.

Acidity is primarily related to food and lifestyle. It also depends on the family history. It’s not food alone that causes acidity, it depends on how your body is used to a certain food or allergic to others. Few causes of acidity are bad eating habits, overeating, consumption of too much spicy food, skipping meals or eating food at odd times, high intake of salt or eating too much before sleeping are some of the eating habits that should be ignored. Stress and lack of physical exercise.
Frequent consumption of alcohol and smoking, followed by lack of sleep. Drinking too much coffee, tea, soft drinks or carbonated drinks or eating fat-rich food daily like pizza, fried food or doughnuts.
