Remembering Lisa Loring (February 16, 1958-January 23, 2023) - part 1 of 3

We have been running a bit behind here at the desk of our Television Vanguard control room recently, and are catching up now on some important items of significance. The passing of actress Lisa Loring is our focus today - we pay tribute to the life of Lisa Loring.

Lisa Loring, who became a television child star on the 1960s hit television series The Adams Family passed away at the Burbank Medical Center on January 23rd from a heart attach brought about by high pressure. She was 64.

Born in 1958 in the Marshall Islands, Lisa had a television career that spanned the decades, on-off at times, but she was a trooper, hard worker and a survivor. A caring. loving mother and grand mother, she rose to fame in 1964 with the role of Wednesday Addams on the hit television series The Addams Family. The cast was a remarkable mix of Hollywood actors of various ages: Carolyn Jones, John Astin, Jackie Coogan, Ted Cassidy, Blossom Rock and Ken Weatherwax.

Upon the ending of the Addams series in 1966, young Lisa went on to guest starring roles on television series The Pruitts of South Hampton and The Girl from U.N.C.L.E. After stepping away from acting for a time to allow Lisa to have a more normal childhood, she returned to acting at nineteen years old and made more guest appearances on television series Barnaby Jones and Fantasy Island.

She made a full comeback onto weekly television in the 1980s, playing Cricket Montgomery on the soap opera As the World Turns.

This video clip is from the early 1990s, on the Geraldo talk show featuring child stars of television and the challenges they faced on and off the screen as they entered adulthood.

We will present a three-part tribute to Lisa, with two additional video clips to comes later today/tomorrow that will focus on Lisa's recovery from substance abuse in the early 1990s, and we hope will provide a public service type aid in Lisa's memory to all of those out there who are suffering from addictions and could benefit from help.

This video clip is presented here on YouTube for the entertainment and informational value of the viewer, and no copyright infringement is intended.

Rest in peace dear Lisa - know that you are loved and remembered.

We pass along our heart felt condolences to Lisa's family and friends. She is survived by two daughter and two grand children.
