The M235x8 employs a fully electric, battery-powered propulsion architecture built entirely from commercially available UAV components, eliminating the complexity and certification burden of hybrid systems. Multiple high-voltage lithium battery packs feed a shared DC bus that powers eight high-current ESCs driving eight 60–70 kgf heavy-lift motors in an X8 coaxial configuration. This architecture delivers a true 2:1 thrust-to-weight ratio at 560 lb MTOW, provides motor-out survivability, and maintains clean, certifiable interfaces with no custom electronics or fictional modules.
