Why 'Next-Gen' Analog Sticks Are Drifting

We are familiar with Nintendo’s not-so-secret battle with Joy-Con drift and the lawsuits that ensued but did you know Microsoft and Sony are also both facing class-action lawsuits for drifting analog sticks?

A quick search on the internet is all it takes to find a number of DIY videos for fixing a drifting PS5 DualSense or Xbox Series X controller but why are so many controllers starting to drift?

Well, it turns out there a few really good reasons that explain why we are starting to see every controller eventually become afflicted by the dreaded drift. For starters pretty much every analog stick, even across the big three console manufactures, is made by the same company.
