^ I think this video summary covers the gist of the book. But if you want to know the science or the reasoning behind all the topics in more detail than I provided, then you can find that to some degree in the book. The book will also explain away the many reasons why people think their babies cry in detail. If you think you need that information, or you just would feel comfortable with a physical copy of this book on your bookshelf, enjoy the above link. It's your choice really. ;)
My Favourite 5S products:
Swaddling - I personally am a big fan of super swaddling. It easily added 1 to 2 hours of sleep for each of my children very early on. I do have to be honest and say, I have a 10% fear that's it's not 100% safe even though my pediatrician said it was. Check out oneminutemom for a how to video on youtube. For this method, you would add a receiving blanket.
Muslin blanket from Aden and Anais, or anything like these blankets. They are the perfect swaddle blankets, even in summer! Buy them here: https://amzn.to/2NIxplT (Affiliate)
Depending on how often you wash, you may need more than three.

Sucking - This always comes down to your baby. But for some reason the Nuk brand always worked on my kids (except for the last, nothing worked on her! LOL! But she was generally not difficult to begin with)
Nuk Pacifier (0-6 Months). It says for boys, but I would say they're more gender neutral. Eventually, you may need to get many pacifiers, but if this is your first buy, I wouldn't splurge until you're sure your baby likes this one: https://amzn.to/3q90c03 (Affiliate)
Dodo Babies Pacifier Clips. A good pacifier clip will prevent you from needing so many pacifiers. These ones have pretty cute designs and very good reviews. https://amzn.to/3e0qnni (Affiliate)
Swinging - This one you really need to do your own research for. So many different kinds, for so many different needs. I'm going to suggest a time and tested classic swing. If you have the space, this will do the job.
Fisher Price Moonlight Meadow Cradle 'n Swing: https://amzn.to/3qbA5p8
All 5 Ss - And of course, there's the SNOO, which has very good reviews I must say. Unfortunately, it was not available until my last child, so I can't share my own experience with it. I was tempted to get it, but all the other things I tried, along with the No-Cry Sleep Solution method (Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peUMM6sOlxg) worked. So I didn't need it. But again, to my husband's dismay, I read soooooo many reviews, and based on that alone, if you can afford it, go for it.
