Madder Madness: my first steps into fabric dyeing #ReformDressChallenge part 1 [CC]
#RefromDressChallenge PLEASE READ BELOW FOR INFO!
**If you are missing the sound in this video, you're not wrong! I seem to have made some editing mistake and most of the audio is lost on this video. Call it ironic, because a couple of years ago I lost all my sound as well when I became deaf... So I hope you will forgive this humble deaf Costuber this sound-mistake, and still enjoy the video!**
My friend Fanny and I were very inspired by the early 1900s reform- and artistic dress movements, and both wanted to make a garment in this style. We found out that there is a contemporary pattern that makes it very easy to do so, and thought it would be the perfect historical sewing/ history bounding/ quarantine loungewear project for a sewing challenge. Hence, #ReformDressChallenge was born!
For my own reform dress, I am first designing my concept and dyeing my fabric, which can be seen in this 'part one' video. The link to part two: https://youtu.be/eKcYoMK630s
To join the challenge, make your own reform or artistic dress and share your progress and results using the hashtag #ReformDressChallenge. Tagging Fanny @fannyfahdenfroh and or me @juulvictoria is also highly appreciated! We are on Instagram and YouTube, but feel free to spread the word on any platform. The pattern, or cutting diagram, that we use can be found as a PDF on Fanny's blog, which is linked below along with several other informative sources:
