🐦About the song:

"Call Me the Breeze" is a song written by J.J. Cale for his 1971 debut album "Naturally." The song tells the story of a man leaving behind the burdens of the world and going wherever the wind blew him. Cale landed a record deal after Eric Clapton recorded his song “After Midnight,” and Clapton recorded more of Cale's songs throughout his career. Lynyrd Skynyrd covered the song on their album "Second Helping" in 1974, giving the song a more rockabilly style. The song has been covered by several other artists, such as Johnny Cash, Shooter Jennings, and John Mayer. Cale passed away in 2013, and Clapton paid tribute to him by including a rendition of "Call Me the Breeze" in a Cale tribute album in 2014. Cale once said, “I suppose the biggest compliment a songwriter can receive is when somebody else sings your songs."
