FILTRETE filters DO NOT use fiberglass...
Need Materials? https://www.firehousepublications.com/filters.html
TIP & UPDATE: There is no fiberglass in the filtrete brand, but there have been a few comments about the use of fiberglass. Glass fibers are indeed bad for the lungs, but if this was a large issue, it would not be used in HEPA filters... because those fibers would be floating in the air. HOWEVER when you cut and handle the material the ends can fray. A solution I used was to "paint" the edges with Elmer's Glue All. (You could use acrylic paint, gloss, or any other solution that is glue-like and will dry. This sealed all loose fibers. Also, instead of using a strip of filter to close off the edge, you could use a ribbon, or long strip of cotton. This is not meant to be part of the filtering system, but only to seal the edges and soften the portion that touches your face. These are my solutions, it is up to you to do as you wish based on the information you gather. I have two more simple versions by others linked below.

PLEASE SHARE: I offer these instructions for free for anyone to use and make a mask for themselves. I AM NOT a medical professional, but I am an award-winning inventor, author, and teacher. "Real" N95 masks really should be in the hands of medical professionals during this Covid-19 pandemic. I had one from a long time before this crisis and wanted to backward engineer one for myself and share with you my process. This is not a "simple" mask to make. I have a link below to something simple by a doctor. N95 Masks are complex but very effective against viruses. It is THE ONLY mask that can protect the wearer against a virus. The loose-fitting masks help people who already have the virus a bit. Loose cotton or rectangular filter masks are UP-TO 80% effective, N95 masks are 95% effective (Hence the name). The one I present here might be even better because it is CUSTOM made to fit one wearer. It's not a "one-size-fits-all" mask. I am NOT claiming this IS an N95 mask, it is the best one of that style I could make at home with easily obtainable materials.
