Why a Third-Party Diagnosis Can Make or Break Your Lemon Law Case

Think your car has a defect but it’s not being confirmed by the dealership? Don’t just tell the dealer—get confirmation of the problem in writing from a neutral source.

Here’s why a third-party diagnosis and confirmation of a defect can help if you’re getting the run-around from a repairing dealer:

- Independent mechanics don’t have a reason to downplay the issue

- Written opinions are stronger than just your word

- Diagnostics are often affordable—and sometimes free

- If a manufacturer refuses to repair a covered defect issue, that may be a Lemon Law violation

Important: Only go for diagnosis—not repair—at outside shops while under warranty, or you could void it.
