Taking advantage of one of the very few places for travel on England's "Green" list. I decided a day trip to Gibraltar was in order. The aim was for some planespotting and a few good deals in duty free. Sounds like a good day out to me. So the day started onboard this flight, BA492 departing Heathrow bright and early at 7:10am. Pretty prompt departure from T5's B gates and taxi to RWY27L for an intersection departure, cutting off a fair chunk of the runway before blasting off towards the west. Climbing passed T5, over the M25, over Windsor castle and turning left, to head south west just before Reading. Views of Reading city centre & railway station can be clearly seen down below. We head south with a few bumps of turbulence over the Channel. Climbed initially to 33,000ft before going up to 39,000ft once clear of the turbulence. A few shots of passing traffic over the Bay of Biscay and northern Spain and some stunning scenery over Spain during the descent as well. We entered a short holding pattern to kill a bit of time before arrival as there were a few arrivals at similar times and its fairly time consuming, landing & back tracking down the runway to the parking stands. After a few extra minutes flying around in circles with views of the Rock & the north African coastline it was our turn to arrive, in over the sea on RWY27 and crossing the road so to speak.

A faultless flight with BA, fab crew & good communication from the flight deck. The service in euro traveller consisted of a complimentary bottle of water and a cereal bar and/or crisps. Nice to see Heathrow a little busier. On this exact day, from July 5th Heathrow went back to dual runway operations. Using one runway for arrivals and the other for departures because of an increase in traffic again. Which is great to see!
*As always by *Full Flight* I do not mean a 2, 3 or 4 hour plus long video of nothing. I simply mean the video includes all stages of the flight from start to finish. All the interesting, good bits!
Thanks for watching! Some beautiful views across the continent!
