For such an action-packed fun game like Super Mario 64, this song stands out by being unreasonably relaxing. My first attempt at making this tune into an acapella arrangement had wayyy more vocal tracks than this. I realized that, even though I had fun stacking tons of extra harmonies, this song feels best the way Koji Kondo composed it; minimal and chill. Since the Winter Solstice just hit for us in the northern hemisphere and the days are extremely short, I felt this song very fitting for such a cold and sleepy time of year ❄
