TOMORROW TURNS TO YESTERDAY TOO SOON by Valentino

© Copyright Jackie Farn professionally known as Valentino (King Of The Music) The west of Ireland can be one of the most beautiful places on earth when the weather is good but in the winter it can be wild and unforgiving. In this composition I have tried to capture some of the atmosphere of this stunningly beautiful place with my composition Tomorrow Turns To Yesterday Too Soon. I spent most of my early youth growing up on a farm in the west of Ireland where my uncle Tom taught me how to milk cows, work a horse, use a scythe to cut the corn and hay and harvest it, cut and dry the turf from the bog and transport it miles home on the back of a donkey, make our own butter and bread, cook everything on the open fire and do all the things that running a small farm involved all those years ago before we had any electricity, running water or modern equipment. All our water had to be carried by bucket from the well several fields away. It was a hard life especially to a young boy more used to city life than working on a farm but I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
Long before mobile phone and TV, the only entertainment was a wind-up gramophone or a swim in the lake. But I also had my imagination and that meant I was never bored. Although this happened many years ago, at times it seems just like yesterday, time goes so quickly, hence the title of my composition Tomorrow Turns To Yesterday Too Soon.
