In Burma authorities refer to Aung San Suu Kyi as 'The Lady' but not out of respect. They refuse to refer to her by name simply because they wish to deny her very existence. For Suu Kyi is leader of Burma's democracy movement and the greatest threat to the generals who've ruled the country for almost four decades.
