Taipei Taiwan Travel Guide 2020. These travel tips for a 5-day trip will go over what to do and see in Taipei, Taiwan. We visited this part of Asia because it’s affordable and offers a lot to do and see. If you’re wondering about cool places to visit in Asia? This guide is for you. I’ll go over the cost of excursions that I did and how much my airfare and hotel accommodations were.

I stayed in Taipei for 5 days in October. This is the rainy season but we luckily didn’t encounter any rain during our visit. Taipei is an Island in East Asia so it’s surrounded by water and nature. But still has an alive city vibe with high-speed metro.

Why travel to Taipei?
It offers a rich cultural experience with street markets, teahouses in the hills and modern architecture in the city.

Where to stay in Taipei?
We stayed at the Chaiin hotel in Taipei City. This was a small boutique hotel that offered complimentary breakfast every morning. It’s best suited for 1-2 people but we did fit 3 people in a room. It was cozy and doable. If you get the highest floor you can have a great view of the city.

How to get around Taipei?
Make sure that you download google translate as you’ll encounter people who don’t speak English. Also, get an easycard from the 7-11 so that you can use the Taipei Metro which is the best form of transportation there. Though they also have Uber and taxis.
