Cross the river on a zipline, the "flying man" on the Nujiang River!
The local woman in the video effortlessly glides across the surging river on a zipline, but a closer look reveals the survival wisdom behind this! I've also compiled some essential safety tips for everyone:
🔴【Safety Core Checklist】
1️⃣ Professional protective gear is the bottom line!
• The professional zipline hook used by the woman in the video has a double safety lock.
• The waist harness must reach the top of your thighs, not just your waist.
• Beginners must wear a helmet; falling objects from the river are very dangerous.
2️⃣ Your takeoff position can mean the difference between life and death!
• Hold the buckle with both hands, one facing forward and one facing backward, like the woman does (to prevent slipping).
• Lean back 45 degrees! The more you lean forward, the easier it is to flip over.
• Wrap your feet around the front traction rope to control your speed (I saw it with my own eyes!)
3️⃣ Absolutely avoid these situations!
• Weight over 80kg or under 40kg (prone to getting stuck or speeding)
• Winds above force 3 on the river (will cause you to spin in the air)
• Carrying items must be secured with a backpack like my older sister (a single-shoulder bag will tip over!)
💡 I asked the zipline operator on site: Most of the remaining ziplines on the Nu River are now for tourist experiences, and those used for daily transportation are dwindling. But locals have been ziplining unprotected for decades, even carrying livestock across the river...
