Monday Night Tropical Update: Hurricane Sam is finally weakening
The long-lived Hurricane Sam is finally weakening as it moves north into cooler waters of the northern Atlantic. It is expected to continue northeast through the first half of the week. It will eventually become a post-tropical cyclone as it gets closer to Greenland.
Tropical Depression Victor is barely a depression and is battling wind shear and dry air in the Atlantic. It will likely become a remnant low by Monday.
A new spot of disorganized showers and storms north of the Caribbean Sea has a low chance of development in the next five days. It's expected to drift north and stay far from the Gulf of Mexico.
There are no tropical threats to the Gulf for the next week or more.
