How to create contours in Surfer and Import to Autocad

In this tutorial, I demonstrate how to create contour lines from survey spot heights using Surfer (Surfer 16) and then export and edit those contours in AutoCAD.

The example in this video uses spot heights collected in the field at 5-meter intervals within a cadastral boundary (A1, B1, SN16, SN17). I show the complete workflow from Excel survey data to a finished contour map inside AutoCAD.

What you will learn in this video
How to organize survey spot heights in Excel
How to import CSV survey data into Surfer 16
How to create a GRD grid surface using Kriging interpolation
How to adjust contour smoothing and contour levels
How to export contours as DXF from Surfer
How to open the file in AutoCAD and convert it to DWG
How to style contours using layers and colors
How to paste contours into a cadastral boundary and trim them to the study area

If you work with total station data, GNSS survey points, or drone elevation data, this method will help you quickly convert raw field measurements into professional contour drawings.
