BIG BREAKING | LIVE | SC Orders Release Of Newsclick Founder | SC-Newsclick Founder Arrest 'Invalid'

The Supreme Court ordered the release of NewsClick founder Prabir Purkayastha, arrested by Delhi Police Special Cell on October 3 last year for allegedly receiving illegal funding from China via the United States. The court cited lack of grounds for arrest and absence of a remand copy, deeming the arrest void. Purkayastha's release is subject to the trial court's satisfaction with bail bonds.Founder Neville Roy Singham, linked to a money laundering case, allegedly financed NewsClick, accused of promoting Chinese propaganda, which the organisation denies.
