Let's Build - Rover Mk3 - Part 3 - Prepping the Motors

In this, the 3rd installment of the the Rov Mk3 build, i'll show you the internals of the Drill Master 18V cordless drill, how to lock the torque clutch, and how to prep the motors with leads and noise suppression caps.

Note: this Drill # 69651 has a somewhat "unusual" reduction of 24:1. 1st stage (smaller gears) is 4:1 , 2nd stage (bigger gears) is 6:1 for a total of 24:1
Much more common are 2 stages of 6:1 for an overall reduction of 36:1

Also on the #69651 drill the Pinion gear on the motor is a slip fit, with a flatted "D" shaped shaft. This makes motor swaps very easy. Most of these drills use a press fit pinion, and are much harder to remove and reinstall the gear on an aftermarket motor.
