The Pied Piper

The Pied Piper (1969)
This was our second film made by students at Van Buren. Many of the students who worked on this film had helped to make the King's New Clothes. Again, the film took about nine weeks to make. This was our first film to be made using about 300 clear plastic sheets (cels) on which to do our animation. The quality of the film improved considerably over the year before. We had learned a lot and were eager to show it off in some of the first scenes. One of the more humorous events was when four large football players sang in falsettos. A clarinet player helped the film by playing much of the music I wrote for the film. This time we took it to all the schools in the school district, and made about $200 off of the film, money which was used to buy art equipment.
