Following the events at Mount Sinai, when YHVH Himself descended onto the mountain and delivered what would become known as ‘the ten commandments’ to Israel, YAH prescribes a series of laws for the people of Israel. They are guidelines for conducting themselves with righteousness and justice, accountability and compensation, in all matters. These fifty-three laws consist of ordinances for the children of Israel related to personal conduct with others, how to address certain issues that may arise between people and ultimately show how they should show love to their neighbour.

YAH also sets before Israel a ‘Malak’, an angel or messenger, who will go before the children of Israel in the wilderness to lead, protect and guide the nation to the Promised Land. Finally, Moses performs a covenant ritual, sealed with blood, a shadow of the blood to be spilt by Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, at Calvary. Moses then heads back up the mountain for forty days and forty nights, leaving the people in the care of Aaron and Hur (who had been the ones helping him keep his arms aloft during the battle with the Amelekites).
