Tapered, Angled, Blind Mortise & Tenons | Engels Coach Shop
Blind mortises are one of many joinery styles found in horse drawn vehicles. This particular one is also angled and angled, not so often encountered, but original to this wagon undercarriage. This is one of the steps in rebuilding this original wagon undercarriage, which will become a chuck wagon. This undercarriage, that we disassembled several videos ago, is now in the process of having this puzzle put back together again. Thanks for following along in the journey.
I use a horse shoeing rasp A LOT, as you see again in this video, and you can find that rasp in the following Amazon links, which also might provide a little support for the channel. It is an aggressive rasp, so care has to be taken when using it, but it works really well for wood working, especially with all the curves and angles that I work with.
