Building a Fly Cutter for a Milling Machine

I made a Flycutter recently.

This project was on my To-Do List for quite some time but I never got around it, until now :)

I showed it to a friend of mine and he really liked it so I thought that I will make him one as gift and take the chance to film the production of the 2nd one.

It is designed to spin clockwise and to hold a 12mm SCLCL carbide insert lathe tool which is readily available on ebay.

This flycutter is made from 50mm stock (around 2 inches) but you can build this design in pretty much any size you like that makes sense for your machine and insert tool that you are planning to use.

This is a neat little project and includes some turning and milling operations. It is definitely doable by a beginner and your will be rewarded with an usable tool afterwards.

If you like the video and find the information helpful, please give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel.

Thanks a lot!
