Class S13A 995 DMU Passing Gampaha For Maho Anuradhapura Test Run #train #shorts

In January 2024, The Northern Line in Sri Lanka Railways was closed between Maho Junction and Anuradhapura for track upgrade. Once the laying of the new tracks was completed after many months, several test runs were conducted along the track. In this video, we see the India-made Class S13A 995 DMU running empty passing the Gampaha Railway Station, for conducting another trial run from Maho Junction to Anuradhapura on Saturday, 19th of October 2024. However, according to media this trial run also did not result in success due to the signaling systems and railway crossing gates and safety systems not yet being installed properly.

🔴 UPDATE: After the Northern Line repairs were completed, the number of the morning Trincomalee Express was changed from 7077 to 7081 (Down train 7078 to 7082) since 21st of October 2024. Just a week later, on 28th of October 2024, the legendary Yal Devi Express Train service resumed service from Colombo Fort to Kankesanthurai, boasting the number 4077 (Down train 4078).
