❣DIY Christmas Fairy House Lamp Using a Coke Plastic Bottle❣
Hello, in this video tutorial I show you how I made a Christmas gingerbread fairy house lamp using plastic bottles, tin foil, paint, hot glue and paper clay (I used "Das modelling material" -
http://amzn.to/2r5FEHY ). This is a great way to teach children about recycling plastic bottles and also stimulate their creativity and imagination.
I first cut the plastic bottle in two pieces and glue them together. Then I build the shape of the houses using tin foil and hot glue. If your hot glue is too hot you can unplug the glue gun and wait for it to cool down a bit. This is a fast way to achieve a basic volume that will be the base for your paper clay. I also used a wire from a hanger to make a strong frame for the roof. When you have the basic shape of your fairy house you can start covering everything with paper clay (I used "Das modelling material" http://amzn.to/2r5FEHY ). You can work in one layer or, if you are a beginner you should work in two layers, one for covering the surface and the second one for the details like windows, door, candies, canes, chimney. Considering it will be a lamp you should also draw as many windows as you can so the light will come out nicely. I made the door and roof tiles look like biscuits. I also made a candy cane chimney, candy stones at the base, and cream dripping from the roof. After the paper clay is dry you can easily add more details using tin foil and hot glue. Let everything dry. Now you can paint it in the desired colors. I used watercolors and acrylic paint because I like working in layers and be able to change if I don't like the way it looks. In the end you can seal the paint using some matte spray varnish. I placed some battery LED lights in the house. I recommend you use soft lights that will gently illuminate your windows so it looks like a real house. DON'T USE HOT LIGHTS!
