My mother. The queen of poem recitation.
As a young girl, she won several competitions in schools in Mexico City. Here she is now at el Casco de Santo Tomás right in the 50 yard. (super epic moment for all my family and friends)
How many memories comes to her, and to me. I have listen since a was a child my mother become a vessel for the great poet Adrian Fragoso Toledo.
This poem "Evocación Politécnica".
Is the narration of the young man from all the Mexican republic, arriving to Mexico City in the 40’s-'50s and their experiences in life, and their love for American football.
Sad stories and happy moments intertwine as the poem mentions the names of people who led their generation to championships, and their personal achievements. Thus setting the field for future generations.
The end is finished with the traditional cheer, "Huelum!" It alwavs gets me to tears.
