SeptembersRich Interview | 'BNL,' Meeting Drake, Relationship with Yeat, New Music & More!
#OGM #OurGenerationMusic #SeptembersRich
The tail-end of the pandemic brought forth one of the most prolific underground scenes we've seen since the 2014-2017 SoundCloud era. Dubbed as "the new wave" or SoundCloud 2.0, artists such as Yeat, Destroy Lonely, Ken Carson, SoFaygo and more took the industry by storm. A part of the UG's notorious Slayworld collective, Septembersrich's journey to stardom was forged through his relationships with close collaborators in Summrs, KanKan and Yeat -- whom he worked on many of his first breakout songs. Tracks such as "Trëndy way" put both Yeat and SR on the map, as their "Twizzy Rich" lingo quickly went viral online throughout 2021 and 2022. Touring with Yeat on his first-ever trek a few years back, which we captured at RAR3HOUSE in Los Angeles, SR has come a long way -- both personally and sonically -- since his time touring and making music with Rino, Kan and Yeat.
Detailing his first interaction with Drake -- revealing that he took the now-infamous Twizzy-Drizzy photo -- as well as moving from Fayetteville, North Carolina (fun fact: he went to same high school as J. Cole) to Los Angeles right after high school, SeptembersRich is in a place of prosperity and evolution. "I'm at a point in my life now where I need no drug to make me happy, or anyone to be around me to feel happy... I make myself happy," he said. Eyeing the follow-up to his debut project 'BNL' in 2024, SR knows that the time he's spent grinding and working on himself will pay off sooner rather than later. He embodies 'BNL,' or his Brand New Lifestyle, in every regard.
In his first-ever on camera interview, SeptembersRich sat down with OGM host Hakeem Rowe to talk about his debut project 'BNL,' his origins in Fayetteville, North Carolina, moving to LA, linking with Yeat, Summrs, Kankan, meeting Drake, Zack Bia and more in this Our Generation Music exclusive interview.
