Boris Johnson is facing severe pressure from many quarters as he charts a path out of lockdown from the coronavirus pandemic - most worryingly from his own backbenchers.

That’s according to The Telegraph’s Deputy Political Editor Lucy Fisher.

As part of a new video series, Westminster Source, she says the backbenchers are “surgical in their approach, highly organised [and] are actually inflicting defeats and forcing u-turns on the government”.

She adds: “As one senior Conservative said to me just last week, there's a real sense in the party that MPs are grumpy and disconnected, and it's in that stage when people can start to organise behind the scenes.”
