Army AH-64s have joined the service’s UH-60s in being fitted with the new Common Infrared Countermeasures, or CIRCM system. A directional infrared countermeasures system, CIRCM gives the helicopters a valuable additional layer of defense against incoming heat-seeking, short-range surface-to-air missiles.
