Matins & Divine Liturgy with Archbishop Makarios at St George Greek Orthodox Church, Brisbane

Recently, the parish and community of St George Greek Orthodox Church, Brisbane celebrated Matins and Divine Liturgy for the first time with our shepherd in Christ, Archbishop Makarios of Australia.

This was a prayerful and glorious worship of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Each and every Divine Liturgy is indeed glorious, but this one was particularly special to have had our Archbishop with us alongside what would have been approximately 1,500 people both inside and outside of the Church.

With true love, faith and fear of God, we worshipped the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. And, at the conclusion of the liturgy His Eminence Archbishop Makarios, bestowed the clerical rank of protopresbyter (πρωτοπρεσβύτερος) on our beloved Brisbane priest Fr Dimitri Tsakas.
