Interior Design — 6 Expert Tips To Make A Rental Feel Like Home

Designer Natalie Chong shares advice on how to decorate a small rental apartment. See how she made the most of her 755-square-foot space to create a home that’s both comfortable and inviting.

Natalie recommends painting the walls to add personality to a rental, and she opted for three shades to create flow in the small space. She replaced builder basic blinds with drapes for textural interest, and opted for customized big box furniture to serve as decor pieces as well as storage space. Her biggest piece of advice is to avoid buying tiny furniture for a small space — instead, play with scale to keep things interesting. And if you are lucky enough to have an outdoor space, utilize it by covering the concrete with patio furniture and plants.
