Mayorkas On Migrants In Del Rio: Officials Did Not Expect ‘Rapidity Of The Increase’

More than 11,000 people are in a massive camp of makeshift shelters at the border. A mass convergence of law enforcement, in cars and on horseback, blocked more people from crossing the river into the U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas says officials did not expect “the rapidity of the increase that occurred.”
