The German Airline Nobody Talks About | German Airways Embraer E190 Flight Review

Welcome to my flight review of a relatively unknown European airline: German Airways. I’m Christian, a Swiss travel vlogger sharing my honest experiences in English — strong Swiss German accent included.

In this video, I’m flying from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to Bremen in Northern Germany on a German Airways Embraer E190. This flight is actually operated for KLM under a wet lease agreement, which means German Airways provides the aircraft, crew and maintenance for KLM flights within Europe.

You’ll see what it’s like to start the journey at the KLM Crown Lounge in Amsterdam, board at the old “Fokker Farm”, and fly on an 18-year-old Embraer 190 in full German Airways colours. I’ll show you the seat layout, legroom in the emergency exit row, a peek at a regular seat, the inflight snack and drink, the lavatory and overall cabin condition.

German Airways mainly operates ACMI charter flights for other airlines like KLM and ITA Airways. So if you book a KLM ticket in Europe, check the small print — you might end up flying with German Airways too.

Would I fly with them again? Absolutely. Generous legroom, friendly crew and a smooth short hop from the Netherlands into Germany.
