How to update ESXDOS on a divMMC Future - ZX Spectrum - www.tfw8b.com - Speccy

We at The Future was 8bit, occasionally get asked how to update the firmware on the divMMC Future.

It's one of those things, that's probably easier to explain in a video, than type out as a crib sheet.. No matter how many times we try.. See below!

The whole process is dead simple.. All shown here, apart from about 25 seconds of the flashing routine to stop you all falling asleep before the end of the video ;D

divMMC Future is available via https://www.thefuturewas8bit.com/shop/sinclair/divmmcfuture.html and as from today (27/5/20) all divMMC Futures are shipping with ESXDOS 0.8.8 preinstalled.

Steps:

1. Download ESXDOS from ESXDOS.ORG
2. Unpack files to temp folder on your existing divMMC Future SD Card
3. Load ESXMMC.TAP from the TMP folder
4. Eject the SD card BEFORE pressing a key to start programming
5. Replace the BIN and SYS folder with the new ESXDOS file/folders
6. Insert SD card into divMMC Future and power on.
