NSW police call church stabbing a 'terrorist attack' (Watch)

NSW Premier Chris Minns has condemned people “taking the law into (their) own hands) following the alleged stabbing of a prominent church bishop, which has now been declared as a terrorist act.

Police were called to the Assyrian orthodox church on Welcome Street in Wakely about 7.10pm after reports Christian leader Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel had been stabbed.

The alleged attack was declared as a terrorist act about 1.35am.

“I want to make something very very clear. There is no such thing in Australia in taking the law into your own hands. It doesn't exist,” the Premier said.
