DARJEELING VIEWS ON SKY #travel #darjeeling #nature #darjeelingdiaries
Darjeeling – a place that truly feels like a dream nestled in the lap of the Himalayas. Known as the “Queen of Hills,” this beautiful hill station in West Bengal is famous for its breathtaking views of Kanchenjunga, lush green tea gardens, colonial charm, and peaceful monasteries. But Darjeeling is not just about popular tourist spots—it’s about the experience, the journey, the calmness in the air, and the hidden places that make you fall in love with it.
In this vlog, I didn’t just explore Darjeeling, but also went beyond the usual tourist path—covering Mirik, Majhidhura (Mini Pahalgam of North Bengal), Tingling Village, Lamahatta Eco Park, and many underrated peaceful locations. If you’re planning a Darjeeling trip, this guide will help you explore it in the best possible way—especially on a budget.

🏔️ My Journey Begins – Darjeeling to Mirik
After exploring Darjeeling, I decided to visit Mirik, a beautiful and less crowded destination around 50 km away.
The journey from Darjeeling to Mirik is one of the most scenic drives you’ll ever experience. The road passes through:
• Dense pine forests
• Tea estates
• Small peaceful villages
And on the way, I discovered something truly magical…
⸻
🌿 Majhidhura – Mini Pahalgam of North Bengal
On the way to Mirik, there is a hidden paradise called Majhidhura, often referred to as the Mini Pahalgam of North Bengal.
This place is still not very crowded, which makes it even more special.
What makes Majhidhura unique?
• Open green valleys surrounded by hills
• A beautiful river flowing through the landscape
• Peaceful atmosphere with almost no tourists
• Perfect spot for photography and relaxation
When I reached Majhidhura, it honestly felt unreal—like I was standing in Kashmir. The calmness, the natural beauty, and the silence made it one of the best experiences of my trip.
If you’re visiting Darjeeling or Mirik, don’t skip this place. It’s a hidden gem.
⸻
🌊 Mirik Lake – The Heart of Mirik
After Majhidhura, I reached Mirik Lake (Sumendu Lake), which is the main attraction of Mirik.
Highlights of Mirik Lake:
• Surrounded by pine trees and hills
• A long arch bridge connecting both sides
• Boating experience available
• Horse riding options
The vibe here is completely different from Darjeeling—less crowded, more peaceful, and perfect for relaxing.
Walking around the lake with cool mountain breeze and scenic views is something you shouldn’t miss.
⸻
🏯 Bokar Monastery – Peace & Spiritual Energy
Next, I visited Bokar Monastery in Mirik.
This monastery is not just a tourist spot—it’s a place where you can feel real peace.
Why visit Bokar Monastery?
• Calm and quiet environment
• Beautiful Tibetan architecture
• Spiritual vibes and chanting sounds
• Less crowded compared to other monasteries
Spending some time here feels refreshing, especially if you’re tired from travel.
⸻
🌄 Tingling Village – A Hidden Himalayan Paradise
From Mirik, I explored Tingling Village, one of the most underrated and beautiful places in the region.
What makes Tingling special?
• Located amidst tea gardens
• Stunning views of mountains and valleys
• Very few tourists
• Authentic village experience
This place is perfect if you want to experience raw nature and local life. The silence here is something you won’t find in crowded tourist spots.

🌲 Lamahatta Eco Park – Nature at Its Best
Another beautiful place I visited was Lamahatta Eco Park, located near Darjeeling.
Key attractions:
• Pine forest walking trails
• Prayer flags adding a spiritual vibe
• Small lake at the top
• Panoramic views of mountains
The climb to the top is totally worth it. It’s peaceful, clean, and perfect for nature lovers.
⸻
🏙️ Exploring Darjeeling Tourist Spots

Famous for the Toy Train, this station is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The old colonial charm makes it a must-visit place.
