Asher McClennahan from CBT Nuggets’ Learning Content team answers a frequently asked question: of all the cybersecurity certification exams that are out there, what are the hardest? Subjectivity aside, these are the four IT security certification exams we know people struggle with the most.

The four most challenging cybersecurity exams are the CISSP, CCIE Security, OSCP and GSE. The CISSP poses convoluted questions and tests your familiarity with real-world methodology. All the CCIEs are difficult, and the CCIE Security is among the hardest: including a 2-hour written test, and an 8-hour lab at a Cisco location. The OSCP is a 24-hour test in a virtual environment. And the GSE isn’t just an exam but a research paper and a hands-on lab as well. But remember: it’s the tests you’re not prepared for that are undoubtedly the hardest.
